West Midlands Area Group
The West Midlands Area Group meet at Fradley Village Hall, Fradley, Nr Lichfleld, WS13 8NW. Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Friday of most months beginning at 6:30pm and finishing at approx 10:30pm. We have a break in December and at the end of September to take in a visit to Scaleforum.
We have a group test track with approx. 60ft circuits so that members can try out, run in, fine tune or just play with their own loco's and rolling stock in 18.83mm gauge. Some members use DCC and each track can be used for this, the group is saving to purchase its own DCC system in the future. Some members still have their own EM or 00 layouts at home.
The Group also have a layout, Birmingham Moor Street, which makes the occasional visit to our meetings as do other members' own layouts.
The meetings are also used for an interchange of ideas and as a forum for advice and help. Meetings are open for anyone that can make it and we have regular members from adjoining Counties. Visiting groups from other areas would be made most welcome and members are always encouraged to bring a friend along whatever scale or gauge they may model in.
