Southampton Area Group
The Group meets on Tuesday evenings 7 - 11pm to chat and work on our layout Southwark Bridge, a seven platform version of Waterloo set in 1912. The layout is 45 feet long.
We are few in number and new members are most welcome (probably bite their arm off), they do not have to be LSWR aficianados, it just helps. If you would like to come along do please get in touch with me first though, details below.
We hold running days here, every even month on the third Saturday and working days on the intervening month, also third Saturday; 10am to 5pm in both cases with a pub lunch.
We have no intention of taking Southwark Bridge to shows as we do not have the manpower, however it is a fully working layout as evidenced by the article in Scalefour News No 149. Scenic modelling continues and more rolling stock keeps coming along.
We are rivet counting modellers, but are happy to have any modellers come along, no matter what their experience or otherwise.
