West Yorkshire Area Group (WYAG)

The group generally meets on the third Tuesday of each month, though not always at the same venue. Each year the programme of meetings typically includes running nights on members’ layouts, individual project nights and presentations and demonstrations by both external and internal speakers. There are also meetings of an essentially social nature, which are also attended by spouses and partners, together with outings to places of more general railway interest. A regularly high level of attendance suggests that the monthly programme is suitably varied and interesting.

There are no plans to build a group layout of any kind at present.

In addition to the regular meetings, the group is committed to assisting at Scalefour North, the Society’s annual gathering in Wakefield. It has also maintained the Society’s presence sometimes at other exhibitions.

Although the WYAG is not a large one, it is big enough to collectively embody a surprisingly wide range of skills, techniques and knowledge, all of which are readily shared.

The group always welcomes new members, so if this is of interest to you, or you would like more information, please contact Steve Hall, either by phone on 01757 618472 or by e-mail at: wyag@scalefour.org.
